Bomb disposal experts managed to defuse an explosive charge planted by unidentified persons near Mar Girgis church in Niqalifa village in Fayyoum governorate on Wednesday.
The police had received a report indicating that a strange object was found near the church where the sappers sent to defuse it.
Investigations started to identify the persons who planted the object which was described as a home-made bomb.
A similar explosive charge had gone off at the entrance of a church in al-Nazla village in the same governorate wounding one person and causing limited damage to the building.
