A Gendarmerie officer, who was shot dead early Sunday by unidentified outlaws in the southern city of Ma'an, was laid to rest in a cemetery in his hometown in Western Amman.
Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Interior Minister, Hussein Majali, joined hundreds of mourners in escorting Second Lieutenant, Nart Haitham Nafash to his final resting place in a cemetery in the Western Amman town of Bayader Wadi al-Seer.
A full military funeral was held for the fallen serviceman who was killed Monday dawn while on duty when a group of yet-to-be identified outlaws opened fire on a Gendarmerie patrol in Ma'an.
Among mourners were the army chief and the directors of the public security, the gendarmerie and civil defense departments and high ranking officers and fellow servicemen.
