Fierce clashes erupted in the Harasta city, northeastern Damascus on Saturday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The clashes occurred between the regime forces and Islamist militant factions, it said.

Meantime, the army fighter jets bombarded five sites in the eastern Ghouta in Damascus.

Roughly 60 persons were killed and 200 others injured in 30 Syrian regime airstrikes launched on Wednesday, and targeted a popular market.
