Civil defense forces put out a fire that erupted in nine houses in a Sohag village with no casualties reported.

The flames started in a worker's house in "Ezbet Borham" village before extending to eight adjacent houses made of mud bricks and thatched roofs, initial examination showed.

The losses were restricted to the death of 16 heads of cattle, the burning of household items and the destruction of six solar panels.

The fire was possibly caused by a short circuit, the initial examination revealed.
