The civil defense forces managed to control fire that erupted Saturday in nine adjacent houses in Tahta.

No casualties were reported.

Sohag Security Chief Ibrahim Saber received a notification about the fire which was extinguished by fire fighters and civil defense forces.

The fire, which was caused by a short circuit, erupted at the house of a street vendor and transmitted via wind to eight surrounding houses.
