The first forum of Egyptian-Jordanian researchers kicked off in the Jordanian capital Amman Sunday.
Egyptian Minister of scientific research Sherif Hammad, who takes part in the activities of the forum, expressed hope that the forum would be a nucleus for joint Arab scientific research to serve the economy and development of Egypt and Jordan.
For his part, Jordan's Minister of Higher Education and scientific Research Amin Mahmoud said spending on scientific research in the Arab world was less that 1 percent of GDP, calling for increasing it.
