Chairman Adel al-Sarawi

Deputy Chairman of State Audit Bureau chairman Adel Al-Sarawi on Wednesday underscored the significance of boosting contacts and cooperation among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) accounting and audit bureaus and the target institutions for upgrading efficiency and effectiveness of control bodies.
Al-Sarawi's remark was part of his address to the opening ceremony of the first symposium for the GCC accounting and audit bureaus.
The two-day event tackles the importance of cooperation between the monitoring agencies and the bodies targeted by their work.
Organizing such events supports monitoring tasks and secures success, he said, noting that cooperation between both sides streamlines the mission and reveals facts and data as well as guarantees accuracy and objectivity, Al-Sarawi said.
He noted that the State Audit Bureau has chosen the topic of the symposium, which he wished success.
The symposium is part of the joint action among the GCC states, head of the bloc's Secretariat department on control integration, Mubarak Al Mubarak said.
He referred to a decision by the 12th meeting of the GCC accounting and audit chiefs to organize a conference or a symposium annually or bi-annually.
According to Al Mubarak, importance of the gathering lies in the ability to produce proper recommendations likely to help cooperation between the accounting and audit bureaus and the target bodies.
The focus of the first day is the Kuwait's State Audit Bureau and the Civil Service Commission. The Finance Ministry and the Government Performance Follow-up Agency have submitted two papers for discussion.
