Metro traffic on the first line was disrupted early Thursday following a technical malfunction in the power network, head of the metro authority said.
Ali Fadali told MENA that an attempt to steal some of the metro tracks is the reason.
He added that metro traffic is fully suspended from Sayyeda Zeinab till Dar el Sallam stations.
Efforts are underway to fix the problem to resume metro movement.
