Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry directed the diplomatic missions abroad to open condolence books at their headquarters after the assassination of Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat earlier on Monday.

Barakat died of wounds he sustained in a bomb attack on his motorcade shortly after leaving his house on the way to his office in downtown Cairo.
