A training program on human trafficking and illegal immigration opened here on Monday, organized by the Foreign Ministry's Egyptian agency for partnership for development in cooperation with the regional Cairo Center for Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa and the National Coordinating Committee on preventing and combating illegal migration.

The training program, which runs till December 4, includes studies on international agreements pertaining to combating human trafficking and illegal immigration and national legislative mechanisms in this respect, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on Facebook on Monday.

The program falls within the framework of Egypt's keenness on transferring its expertise in the field of combating human trafficking and illegal immigration and supporting African cadres in this field.

The program will be attended by 14 trainees from eight African nations, namely Ethiopia, Burundi, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Djibouti, Tanzania and Eritrea.
