Former Lebanese prime minister Omar Karami passed away Thursday at age 80.
The senior politician was in frail health condition and was hospitalized before his death.
Karami was born in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, in 1934 and was prime minister twice in 1990 and 2004.
He also was minister of national education and fine arts in 1989 and was elected to parliament for three consecutive terms between 1992 and 2005.
