The French Foreign Ministry urged its citizens in Tunisia to avoid large crowds, maintain vigilance and steer away from vital establishments and buildings.
The ministry also urged the Tunisian authorities to raise security alert during celebrations marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the New Year.
Tunisia is under a state of emergency following a suicide bomb attack on a presidential guard bus in Tunis last month. Earlier, two major gun attacks took place on Tunis museum and a beach hotel targeting foreign tourists.
