Gulf Cooperation Council Chief Abdullatif al Zayani has welcomed Yemeni President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi's call for holding a conference for political factions under the umbrella of the pan-Gulf body to settle the political crisis in Yemen.
Addressing a meeting of the Arab League in Cairo, Zayani urged all Arab countries to support such step.
Riyadh has welcomed the Yemeni president's call and offered to host the gathering.
But Zayani renewed rejection of the Houthi military takeover of the capital Sanaa and other regions of Yemen.
He also stressed concern about the conditions in Yemen.
