Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul Latif bin Rashid al Zayani has strongly condemned Houthis' occupation of the UAE Embassy in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

In a statement on Monday, Zayani described the act as a flagrant violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

He expressed his condemnation of this cowardly act which represents proof of the Houthi group's violations of international laws.

He demanded the prompt evacuation of the embassy building.
