Giza train accident

The number of deaths reported in this morning’s Giza train accident rose to five, while the injured to 27, the Health Ministry announced.

The injuries were mainly simple fractures and bruises except for two cases; one suffering from multiple fractures to the hand and the other fractures in the two thigh bones, ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said.

The accident occurred when the rear of a Cairo-Aswan train hit a bumper, causing the locomotive, the baggage car and a passenger car to derail and turn over, he said.
