Greek consul in Alexandria asserts strength of relations with Egypt

Greek Consul General in Alexandria Emmanouil Kakavelakis asserted Thursday the strength of Greek-Egyptian relations.

At a meeting with Alexandria Governor Mohamed Abdel Zaher, Kakavelakis also highlighted the deeply-rooted relations between Greece and Egypt, noting that Egyptians in Greece represent the second largest foreign community in the country.

A large number of Egyptian businessmen work in Greece and Greek and Egyptian seaports maintained strong relations and daily cooperation, especially in Alexandria, the diplomat added.

For his part, Alexandria's governor highlighted the historic relations between both countries, noting that the Greek community is part of the history of Alexandira.

Both parties also discussed future cooperation, especially in the fields of tourism, agriculture and environment.
