The Cairo Criminal Court sentenced to death seven terrorists, including prominent Islamist militant Adel Habara, charged with killing 25 policemen in an ambush in Sinai Peninsula in August last year.
They are also accused of killing central security forces in Belbeis, Sharqiya, and collaborating with al-Qaeda in Iraq.
Habara has already been sentenced to death in absentia over bomb attacks in Taba in 2004 and Dahab in 2006, both tourist resorts in Sinai that left 42 dead.
