Gaza City - Arab Today
The Gaza Strip Interior Ministry executed three people involved in murder cases although President Mahmoud Abbas did not uphold the sentences.
Some opposition factions and human rights organizations rejected the execution.
In a press release, the Hamas Interior Ministry said three people embroiled in killing cases were executed early Tuesday after taking all needed litigation measures.
The Palestinian parliament in the Gaza Strip - which groups only Hamas MPs - has endorsed the execution sentences amid opposition of some factions and human rights organizations over the flagrant violation of the constitution.
Under the constitution, the president is the only one who has the right to endorse execution sentences and no execution sentence can be carried out without presidential approval.
