Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh hailed on Friday the Saudi support to the Palestinian people and the Gaza Strip.

Haniyeh welcomed a Saudi and Arab role in reaching reconciliation between rival Palestinian factions.

Also, he highlighted a previous deal reached under support of late Saudi King Abdullah in 2007.

Haniyeh asserted "real commitment" to agreements made with Fatah and other Palestinian factions to end split.

The top group's leader said "the brothers" in Ramallah were "not serious" about reconciliation or a time-lined agreement.
