Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Ahmad Bahr revealed a reconciliation initiative to end the Palestinian division and achieve national unity.

Speaking at a press conference Tuesday, the senior Hamas leader called for forming a national consensus government from all Palestinian factions to carry out its commitments in the West Bank and Gaza.

The Palestinian Legislative Council will convene after forming the government to give it its confidence, he said.

He said a defined date has to be set for holding the legislative, presidential and Palestine National Council elections.
