Police Chief, Major General Abdelghani Hamel hailed Tuesday in Algiers "the positive results achieved by the Algerian Police as a partner in the development which has successfully addressed the different forms of crime."
"On the occasion of the National Police Day, we would like to hail the positive results achieved by the Police as an effective partner in the development which has successfully addressed the different forms of crime," said Hamel in a message, read on his behalf by Director of Human Resources Benabrad Mohamed, on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the creation of the Algerian Police corps.
"The quality leap made in a short period is the fruit of huge efforts with a wise and far-sighted management for a modern police," he said.
"This strategy has been achieved through the improvement of training quality and the promotion of all initiatives likely to help achieving these objectives," he added.
Hamel also underlined the role of the media "in highlighting the noble missions entrusted to us and which consist in ensuring the security and preserving public order in accordance with the President of the Republic's guidelines for a modern police in the service of citizens."
Human resources is "the key to success of all the missions entrusted to the Police," he said, adding that the Police Department has taken the necessary measures to develop the training programmes.
