The Health Ministry said five persons were injured in the small fire that broke out on the third and fourth floors of the Cairo City Hall building, with no deaths reported.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Dr. Khalid Megahed said two persons were hospitalized to Ahmed Maher Hospital, while three others were treated on the spot.

Six ambulances were dispatched to the fire scene, he added.

Earlier, the City Hall said in a statement that a preliminary inspection of the room showed that the fire erupted as a result of a short circuit.
