Giza’s Nahda Square

Police and army forces beefed up security measures around Giza’s Nahda Square, just outside Cairo University, to counter any vandalizing acts that could occur on Friday due to protest calls by pro-Muslim Brotherhood extremist groups.
The army deployed a military vehicle outside the university’s main gate and two others at Nahda Street at the university’s sidewalls, MENA reporter at the scene said. Rapid Deployment Forces were seen stationed outside the nearby Giza Zoo.
Nahda Square, once an MB encampment site, is so far open to traffic.
