Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi inspected checkpoints, security and military forces that are securing the Suez Canal waterway ahead of the inauguration of the New Suez Canal due on Thursday.

Hegazi met with soldiers and commanders at the joint command center established by the army for securing the waterway.

Hegazi was updated on the plans for securing the waterway ahead of the celebration.

He also inspected troops of the Third Army and has been updated on the massive security measures for securing the waterway.
