A group of Houthi rebels early Wednesday gained the control of a camp belonging to the special forces west of Sanaa after fierce battles which left many people dead and others injured.
Eyewitnesses told KUNA that they have seen Houthi rebels manning the gate of the special forces' camp, a sign that the rebels have control over the facility.
A military source said late Tuesday that Houthi rebels attacked and shelled the camp using heavy armory and weapons.
According to the source, clashes erupted after the Houthis were denied access to the camp.
