A huge fire erupted in a building on Sabtiya Street in central Cairo earlier Wednesday.

Firefighters are acting to put out the flames in el Gomrok building.

Twelve fire engines rushed to extinguish the blaze, said director of the general department of the civil defense sector Major General Mamdouh Abdel Qader in statements to MENA.

He made it clear that the power has been unplugged and the building evacuated.
