Damascus - Arab Today
The Russian-Syrian humanitarian aid has been delivered to Al-Tall, a city partly seized by gunmen and located to the north of capital Damascus, TASS news agency reported on Friday.
Officers of the coordination center for reconciliation of warring parties in Syria arranged a safe corridor for sending the humanitarian cargo to Al-Tall.
The center of the city, home to 60,000 people, is under control of an armed group that is currently in talks on ceasefire.
Each citizen received a package of humanitarian aid, including canned fish, meat and also two kilograms of rice, peas and beans. Local children were given a special package consisting of waffles, sweets and biscuits.
Almost every family used the opportunity to receive humanitarian aid. A local citizen told TASS there is no shortage of food but the goods went up in price while the profits of citizens dropped.
