Salloum border crossing director Mohamed Metwali said the number of Egyptians who returned from Libya during the past 24 hours hit 555.
In statements, he said the returnees affirmed that large numbers of Egyptians are working away from conflict-stricken areas near the Egyptian borders.
Egypt decided to facilitate the return of Egyptians from Libya after the escalation of violence in the Arab country.
