The popular resistance elements and forces loyal to the legitimacy retook Saturday a fifth province in the country`s south, as they continued their advance against the Houthis.

The Houthis withdrew and handed over Shabwa to the pro-government forces after they were promised a safe route out of the province.

Yemen has been rocked by months of fighting between the Houthis and loyalists of Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi, supported by the Arab coalition, leaving thousands dead and 21 million people in need of urgent aid.
