An attempt by 135 people to infiltrate into Libya was thwarted by security forces in Marsa Matrouh.

Matrouh security chief Hisham Lotfi said 135 infiltrators were arrested, including a Sudanese national, during their illegal attempt to sneak into Libya through desert routes in Salloum.

The Egyptians are from different part of Egypt including Meniya, Fayyoum, Assuit, Sohag, Daqahliya, Beni Suef, Qena, Beheira, Kafr el Sheikh, and Gharbiya governorates.

They were referred to the prosecution for starting an investigation.
