The injury toll from the blast which targeted the Italian Consulate in downtown Cairo early Saturday mounted to seven, announced the Health Ministry.

The powerful explosion left one person killed, added the ministry.

Two of the injured are under observation and treatment, while five have been given first aid at the reception, said the ministry in an initial report on the blast.
