Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim has endorsed promotions of a number of Cairo police officials, a high-ranking security source said Tuesday.
A number of senior officials have been promoted as Cairo Police chief Major General Ali el Demerdash retires, the source told MENA.
Khaled Youssef is replacing Demerdash as Cairo Police chief, the source said.
Khaled Metwali has been appointed as his deputy and Khaled Abdel Hamid as director of Cairo security troops, the source added.
