A quarrel between staffers of the burnt Agouza nightclub and other persons was behind an incident that occurred on Friday morning, a security media source said.

In a statement by the Interior Ministry, the source said 16 persons were killed and three others wounded in the attack.

Firefighting authorities were rushed to the scene and managed to control fire.

Efforts were underway to arrest the perpetrators and relevant legal measures were taken, according to the source.
