Islamic Research Academy and Al Azhar on Friday mourned former Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al Faisal who died on Thursday in the United States.

In a statement, the academy, affiliated to Al Azhar, offered sincere condolences to Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz and the Saudi people.

Also, Al Azhar mourned the late prince, lauding him as the "pioneer of the Arab diplomacy."

It offered deep condolences to the Saudi king, government and people.
