Iraq described the withdrawal of Turkish forces from Zalkan camp at the northern outskirts of Mosul as a "step towards the right direction," Iraqi Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Gamal said on Sunday.
In statements, he hoped the step will be followed by overall and unconditional withdrawal from all Iraqi territories.
On Friday, Turkey said it withdrew its forces as a response to US President Barack Obama's call. Ankara did not specify whether it will withdraw its forces from Iraq or just from the camp.
Earlier, Turkey said that it will re-deploy its forces in northern Iraq.
