The Iraqi presidency, government and parliament agreed to arm residents of Al Anbar and Ninawa to take part in the current military operation against Daesh militants, a statement by the presidency said.
President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Haider Abadi and parliament speaker Selim Gabouri agreed during their meeting at El Sallam Palace late on Sunday to address the shortcomings of Tikrit liberation operation.
After a month-long battle, the Sunni city of Tikrit was liberated from hands of Daesh militants.
