A Daesh leader was killed in airstrikes staged by the US-led coalition aircraft in Mosul city, Nineveh operations command said in a statement on Sunday.

In a related context, a military force with Kurdish Peshmerga forces repelled an attack launched by Daesh fighters on a district in northern Sinjar Mountains of Nineveh province, Kurdish military source said.

Some Daesh militants were killed and equipment were destroyed in the attack fended off by the Kurdish force, the source added.
