Iraqi borders with Jordan

The closure of the Iraqi borders with Jordan on Thursday was a temporally measure due to the running military operations in Anbar governorate against terrorist Daesh group, Iraq's ambassador in Amman said Friday.

In press statements, Jawad Hadi said the military operations which were conducted in the governorate's cities of Fallujah and Ramadi required closing the borders to maintain security.

"Such measure is temporally," Hadi stressed, adding it would be re-opened after the end of the military operations.

He added that the Iraqi army expected victory soon and purging the country from the country, adding the Jordanian goods could enter Iraq through Kuwait, but in fewer quantities.

Meantime, Jordan's government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani said the closure came from the Iraqi side, and wished it could be re-opened soon
