Iraqi forces foil attacks by Daesh

Iraqi forces managed Thursday to repel two attacks launched by Daesh terrorist group in Salahulddin.

Meanwhile, the Commander of Salahulddin Operations Gomaa Anad survived an assassination attempt by a booby-trapped car.

In a press statement, Salahuddin Operations Command said that the attack took place in Salahuddin province.

The Iraqi forces, supported by the army's warplanes, destroyed six vehicles affiliated to Daesh, the statement read, adding that three of these cars were booby-trapped.

Salahuddin Operations carried out a military operation in south western "Spyker" air base and damaged two tanks affiliated to Daesh and killed number of gunmen.
