Iraqi forces managed Friday to free Dour district of Salahuddin province, where Daesh executed five militants fleeing a battle with Iraqi forces north of Tikrit.
Local sources in Salahuddin said the Iraqi joint forces began to defuse IEDs and secure homes where bombs were planted by Daesh militants before fleeing the area.
Reinforcements of security forces and volunteer militants arrived on Friday in the province, where Daesh became trapped after losing its funding sources, the sources added.
The sources said that Daesh's strongholds in Salahuddin exposed to rocket, artillery and aerial bombardments.
In Anbar, five Daesh militants were killed during an Iraqi military operation that also destroyed several vehicles belonging to the terrorist group.
The joint forces also killed three terrorists and destroyed four car bombs set to detonate north of Baquba.
Meanwhile, Kurdish Peshmerga forces repelled an attack by Daesh militants on a Mosul district, killed several terrorists and destroyed three military vehicles.
