The Iraqi army Saturday thwarted a series of suicide attacks by Daesh militants in cities of Ramadi and Tikrit, and killed the attackers, a source at the Anbar Operations Command said.
Special forces thwarted attacks by two booby-trapped cars in central Ramadi and killed the two persons who were driving them, the source told KUNA but added that five Iraqi soldiers were injured in the operation.
The Iraqi troops foiled another attack by three Daesh suicide attackers in Ramadi by killing the attackers before reaching their target, he added.
Meanwhile, Iraqi forces and popular troops killed two suicide attackers who tried to sneak into Tikrit, capital of Salahuddine governorate.
On the other hand, the Iraqi army said it found four mass graves near Tikrit believed to be containing bodies of Iraqi soldiers killed by Daesh militants when they stormed into the city last June.
Iraqi forces and locals in Al-Buajeel area found the four mass graves, a source in Salahuddine Operations Command told KUNA.
One of the graves was opened and one remain was taken for examination,he said.
