Iraq's intelligence agency has denied reports claiming that "a military coup attempt" had been discovered.
"These reports are categorically unfounded," a spokesman for the agency said on Monday.
On Sunday, Defense Minister Khaled el Obaidi dismissed "rumors" fanned by some media outlets of an alleged coup scheme.
The spokesman urged media to check information that pertain to the intelligence body.
