Forty Daesh militants were killed in military operations launched by joint Iraqi forces in northern Tikrit city in Salaheddin province, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Thursday.

Also, four vehicles and heavy weapons were destroyed in the operations, the statement added.

This comes as part of the operations staged by the Iraqi troops to purge large swathes of Anbar and Salaheddin provinces from Daesh terrorists.
