Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled Ubeidi met on Monday with Najaf Governor Adnan al Zurufi.

The meeting took up the latest developments and the security situation in the governorate as well as the role of the popular committees' forces in the fight against Daesh militant group.

Iraqi security forces in Najaf closed traffic in the surroundings of shrine of Imam Ali till further notice during Ubeidi's visit to the governorate.
