Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al Jubouri has warned of an "imminent collapse" in the city of Ramadi, the capital of Iraq's largest province of Anbar, following an attack by Daesh on the government complex area.

The collapse in Ramadi will have dangerous repercussions for national security, Jabouri said in press statements.

He called on the Iraqi government and international coalition to provide further support for the forces in Anbar.

Several suicide car bombs were used in the assault on the governmental compound in the city.
