Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi discussed his nation's war on ISIL with regional counterparts and leaders over the phone on Sunday.
The reclaiming of territory from ISIL has been achieved by the various components of the Iraqi community in unison, he told King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, adding that a strategy to keep these areas under local police supervision was being taken, read a statement by his office.
After reiterating Saudi Arabia's commitment to Iraq, the King, according to the statement, proceeded to invite the Iraqi prime minister to visit Saudi Arabia.
Al-Abadi's talks with Jordan's King Abdullah II also discussed the developments on the matter, to which the King reiterated his nation's commitment.
In talks with the Egyptian leader, President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi indicated to "sedition in the region we are trying to overcome together." Hailing the current Iraqi administration, Al-Sisi also expressed confidence it could "translate joint (national) aspirations into tangible results." Later in separate talks, Al-Abadi assured his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu that Iraqis alone have been involved in the ground offensive, and that the only foreign intervention on the ground was through training and technical assistance.
