Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Abadi chaired on Sunday a meeting with Iraqi security chiefs to stand on troops' readiness to fight Daesh.
During the get-together, Abadi hailed sacrifices made by the Iraqi troops and pro-government popular mobilization (Al Hashd al Shaabi) militias to liberate the country from Daesh militants.
He also called on Daesh-supporting Iraqis to lay down their arms and join the Iraqi army in its anti-terror war.
Moreover, Abadi stressed that the Iraqi army is mainly tasked with protecting the Iraqi people and sanctuaries.
