Iraq's Interior Minister Mohammed Ghabban who offered resignation three days ago lashed out at Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi who blamed the resigned minister in the wake of Karadah blast to try to distance himself away from responsibility. 

Ghabban said he failed to hold one meeting with the premier in the last four months. 

The minister said Al-Abadi is trying to cover-up his responsibility for the security of Baghdad by linking the resignation with the massive explosion of Karrada that killed up to 175 people. 

The interior ministry shares responsibility with the Baghdad Operations Command led by the prime minister, he said. 

The prime minister, who is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, issued an ordered the withdrawal of the advanced detection equipment that are used to conduct the under vehicle inspection, the minister said. 

The security file is assigned to a group of military and police commanders who are working in separate islands without a clear vision or strategic plan, he added. 

On Tuesday, the interior minister offered resignation and said a deputy would take over his responsibilities, a few days after the deadliest of many car bombings in Baghdad since the 2003 US-led invasion.
