Iraqi warplanes pounded four Daesh booby-trapped vehicles in central Tikrit city, the capital of Saladin Province, Iraqi security source said on Tuesday.
Also, Iraqi forces killed more than 400 Daesh elements in Al Karma district in Anbar province, the source added.
For his part, member of the security committee in Salaheddin provincial council Ali Al Dujaili said the Iraqi police and army forces, backed by Al Hashd Al Shaabi militias launched a military operation to liberate Tikrit city from Daesh militants.
In addition, Iraqi troops purged several districts in Saladin province and killed some 70 Daesh militants, he added.
