Ethiopia's dam

Egypt's Minister of Irrigation Hossam Moghazy said that all scenarios are on the table regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam negotiations, including the withdrawal of both consultancy offices chosen to conduct studies on the dam.

The remarks were made by Moghazy upon arrival in Khartoum, accompanied by Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, to attend a meeting of the foreign and irrigation ministers of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia on the Ethiopian dam file.

The gathering will kick off on Friday.

Moghazy has underlined the importance of amending the technical course of negotiations and speeding up the preparation of hydraulic, environmental, social and economic studies.

The meeting is due to tackle the declaration signed by the leaders of the three countries in March, he noted.

Egypt will present all concerns and its vision to bring an end to all pending issues in this file, Moghazy said.

Egypt hopes that the Ethiopian side would respond to all concerns raised by Egypt during the meeting, Moghazy said.

The 10th round of the tripartite committee will be held following this meeting, he expected.

Egypt has received an official invitation from Sudan to hold the meeting of irrigation and foreign ministers of the three countries as Sudan is the president of the current round of tripartite committee.
